Border Official: 2021 Illegal Immigration On Track To Surpass Past Three Years Combined

"So right now we’re about a hundred percent over where we were this time, this last fiscal year..."

John Modlin, the interim chief in charge of the Border Patrol in Tucson, Arizona, revealed in an interview that the surge in illegal immigration at the Southern border has continued to grow over the past few months. Modlin warned that at this rate by the end of the year illegal immigration will surpass the numbers of 2018, 2019, and 2020 combined.

“So right now we’re about a hundred percent over where we were this time, this last fiscal year. We’ve already surpassed in the first four months of this fiscal year. We’ve already surpassed all of 2018. If the flow continues at the rate it is here, by the end of this fiscal year, we will have surpassed ‘18, ‘19 and ‘20, all combined,” Modlin told Sharyl Attkinson, host of “Full Measure with Sharyl Attkinson.”

The influx of illegal immigration has been overwhelming migrant detention facilities. As a result, President Biden has chosen to open child detention facilities to full capacity, despite the risk of COVID-19.

Former ICE Director Tom Homan has blamed the increased illegal immigration on Biden’s “open border” policies.

“We knew this will happen because all the promises Joe Biden has made and he continues to make,” Homan said. “And you know, so this isn’t by accident. This is by design. This is an open border strategy. He has bowed to the left, we lose the border.”
